Special Event! January 31, 2009

Continuing a tradition of collaboration and innovation, the Bach Society partnered with the Gem City Ballet under a grant from the Miriam Rosenthal Memorial Trust Fund to commission and perform a new ballet set to J.S. Bach’s choral masterpiece the Magnificat. This unique performance combined chorus and soloists interacting on the stage of the Victoria Theater with the ballet and a full orchestra in the pit. Audience reaction was enthusiastic, and the young Gem City Ballet dancers were delighted at the experience.
